  • Organoclay – Emulsified oils, surfactants

  • Sand and Gravel – TSS and turbidity

  • Anthracite & Garnet – Depth filtration and polishing

  • Resins – Targeted ion exchange and specialty separations

Units can be:

  • Configured for backflushing

  • Set in series or parallel

  • Operated with inline or external pumps

  • Combined with pre-filtration and chemical conditioning

🔍 Tank Inspections & Compliance Support

FTM partners with a trusted network of API 653, STI-SP001, and NACE-certified inspectors to provide full inspection and documentation services.

We support:
  • Outage inspections and tank prep

  • Shell and floor UT thickness mapping

  • Floating roof and seal inspections

  • Leak detection and hydrotesting

  • Tank floor replacement prep

  • RFI support (Repair Follow-Up Inspections)

All repairs and inspections are fully documented for EPA, state, and site-specific compliance.

🏭 Industries We Serve

  • Refineries and Petrochemical Facilities

  • Airports and Aviation Fuel Storage

  • Power Generation Plants (Nuclear, Gas, Hydro)

  • Tank Farms and Bulk Terminals

  • Government and Military Fuel Depots

  • Industrial Firewater and Water Treatment Tanks

💥 Media Blasting – Surface Preparation for Long-Term Protection

Proper surface prep is critical to successful tank restoration. FTM offers multiple blasting methods depending on the application, substrate, and environmental constraints.

Common Blasting Media:
  • Coal Slag (Black Beauty®): Sharp, fast-cutting, ideal for removing thick coatings and corrosion.

  • Crushed Glass: Low-dust, non-toxic, effective on steel without embedment.

  • Garnet: Recyclable, angular media for controlled profiles and reduced dust.

  • Walnut Shell & Corncob: Biodegradable, gentle abrasives used in vaults, near sensitive equipment, or where plant environmental limits apply.

  • Sponge Media: Reduces ricochet, ideal for tight or congested workspaces.

  • Aluminum Oxide: High hardness media for aggressive profiles.

  • UHP Water Jetting: Up to 40,000 psi for chlorides and embedded coating removal without introducing grit.

Standards & Testing:
  • Surface prep to SSPC / NACE standards: SP5 (white metal), SP10 (near-white), SP6 (commercial)

  • Profile measurement per ASTM D4417

  • Surface salt testing via Bresle method before coating

  • Optional chloride removal washdowns before lining

🎨 Coating & Tank Lining Services

We install internal linings and exterior coatings for:

  • Diesel fuel

  • Jet fuel (JP-5/JP-8)

  • Water (firewater, process, demineralized)

  • Chemical products (solvents, caustics, EHC fluids, aromatics)

Lining Types:
  • 100% Solids Epoxies – Standard for fuel and water service

  • Phenolic Epoxies – Excellent chemical and high-temp resistance

  • Vinyl Ester Systems – Strong acid and caustic resistance

  • NSF-61 Certified Linings – For potable or process water tanks

  • Zinc-rich primers – First layer protection for long service life

  • Polyurea / Urethane Topcoats – UV, chemical, and abrasion resistance

Fuel Tank MaintenanceApplication:
  • Spray-applied (airless or plural)

  • Stripe coats on welds, seams, and edges

  • Certified QA/QC inspectors verify:

    • Dry film thickness (DFT)

    • Holiday testing (per NACE SP0188)

    • Cure and recoat intervals

    • Adhesion and hardness (as required)

⚠️ Confined Space Entry & Safety Protocols

Safety is non-negotiable. FTM follows strict confined space entry (CSE) programs and meets or exceeds OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 requirements.

Our safety measures include:
  • Entry permits and confined space planning

  • Continuous atmospheric monitoring (LEL, O₂, CO, H₂S)

  • Ventilation and mechanical retrieval systems

  • Rescue-trained crews

  • Lockout/tagout and hot work protocols

  • SDS adherence for tank residuals and coatings

We’re experienced in working in sensitive locations such as:
